.:: Frequently asked questions What can changes can be made to the kart? What can changes can be made to the kart? The Moran Raceway Top-karts are specifically tuned and "set-up" for our kart track. All the karts are tested and driven on a regular bases in order to meet our baseline. All of our motors are prepared and jetted equally. For this reason it is not necessary to make any significant changes to the setup at any time. If necessary tire pressure and front and rear track width can be adjusted throughout the day. Odds are, your driving will be the main thing that you need to focus on improving in order to go fast. HPV 3 or HPV 4. Each class is very similar with the exception of the exhaust pipe. Driver weight will dictate what class each participant enters. Drivers over 200lbs generally enter the HPV 4 class. What is the schedule for the day? This depends on what club you race with. Tri-C kart club normally starts practice at 8am. This means that participants need to arrive at 7:00am to sign in and get fitted to the kart. Depending on where the class is structured into the day, racing normally ends around 3:30-5:30. Qualifying is generally started around 10:30 with heats running between 12-2:30. Main events normally fall between 2:30 and 5:30. S.D.K.A follows a similar time pattern but everything happens a bit quicker due to smaller turn-outs overall. Arrival time for participants racing with S.D.K.A is exactly the same as Tri-C, 7:00am. Who is responsible for crash damage? You are. Keep that in mind. Crash damage fees are very rare with our driving programs when the participant is driving responsibly and respecting their fellow competitors. However, crashes can occur in all forms of motorsports and our racing karts are no exception to the rule. Once participants have driven the karts in morning practice, there will be no refunds available. Absolutely, we encourage it. Please note that racing clubs do have a $10 fee for each guest. Is there driver instruction included? Moran Raceway mechanics are also racing instructors and racing competitors themselves. They will be happy to supervise and give you feedback throughout the day regarding your driving and racing techniques. What if there is a mechanical failure in the race? The fleet of Top-Karts used for the Moran Raceway programs are immaculately maintained and continually cycled through routine inspections. In racing there are no guarantees against mechanical failures due to the nature of the sport. In the unlikely event of multiple mechanical failures in both race events Moran Raceway will provide a discount gift certificate which can be used toward any of our driving programs. We provide all safety gear including suits, helmets, neck collars, gloves, head sock, rib vests and racing jackets. Participants are welcome to bring any of there own driving attire. Closed-toe tennis shoes are mandatory. No tools are neccesary. Food Service is available at the track on all race days. How do I sign up for Arrive and Race?
