.::FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Is karting safe? Yes, karting is very
safe and we place a lot of emphasis on teaching
proper safety techniques and accident avoidance
procedures. Moran Raceway also provides the
best prepared
racing karts in the country. Accidents are
extremely rare and Moran Raceway is one of
only a few tracks in the entire country built
to meet CIK/FIA specs and safety guidelines.
This means that all of our safety run-off
areas, curbs, fencing, and barriers are designed
for
maximum safety. Our staff is extremely qualified
in instruction and kart preparation. All kid karts
are restricted in horsepower and extra attention
is spent making sure that all "Jr." students
are well supervised and trained. Each participant
is covered with insurance after signing a waiver.
Moran Raceway is proud to have never had any injury
in any of our driving programs. What days are corporate or group events conducted? We offer corporate
and group events 3 days a week on Tuesdays,
Thursdays, and Saturdays year round. Most of
our corporate events are 1/2 day programs
from 9am to 1pm. We also conduct our racing
schools and kart rentals
on these same days and times. Availability
for each driving program is strictly first
come,
first serve. For larger parties, (7 or more)
our corporate and group events can be arranged
on any day of the week
and all day long for a more spaced out time
schedule. Typically, we handle
catering arrangements for full day programs
only. Moran Raceway can set up any type of
catering package that is needed from sandwiches
or pizza, to "white tent, gourmet food".
Catering is an addtional
expense to each driving program. Do you offer photography or video? Yes, photography and
video packages are available for all corporate,
group, and racing school events. Prior notice
and scheduling is required so please let our
scheduling representive aware of this when
booking the program. Are there age or size requirements? We offer classes for
students starting at age 5 and all other ages,
genders, and backgrounds are welcomed. Persons
over 275 lbs or 6'6" in height may not
fit in a kart. Do minors run in conjunction with adults during corporate and group events? Yes, this is not a
problem as the entire facility will be exclusively
reserved for each large party or
just Moran Raceway karts only during all of
our driving programs. This will provide a lot
of open
track space. We have cadet karts (generally
used for 8-12 years old) and kid karts (generally
used
for 5-7 years old) which have reduced horsepower
and smaller chassis which help kids to
feel comfortable and have a fun time. Moran Raceway provides
all students with Italian manufactured Top
Kart racing chassis equipped with 2 stroke
powered, 100cc HPV motors. These air cooled
motors put out
about 20 horsepower and don't require any shifting.
These karts are a world
championship winning brand which all come with
Tillet or Top-Kart padded seats. Our
karts are immaculately maintained and are set
up to fit drivers of all sizes.
Click here for performance and chassis specs. What's a typical corporate or group event consist of? A typical corporate
or group program is a half day program (9am-l
pm) that teaches the basic fundamentals of
karting in a fun and safe manner with an emphasis
on fun and team work. These programs are
custom tailored to each party depending on
size, goals, etc.
Corporate and group events are great for the beginner
who has never driven a kart or for anybody
who wants to improve their skills at Moran Raceway.
The day will start off with a 30
minute classroom session where topics such as racing
line, handling, braking, and general
safety will be taught. Following class, there will
be a walk around the track with an experienced
instructor who will go into further detail
on turn in points, apexes, and inside secrets
of
success. Next will be lead & follow sessions
where each student will get a chance to
follow their instructor around the track at speed
in order to get a first hand view of where
to go. After everybody is comfortable and ready
for more action, open lapping will begin
and our instructors will be supervising and taking
notes from the comers while working
1 on 1 with students in debriefs. For the finale,
there will be a relay race with a Le Mans style
start and live pit stop driver changes followed
up with a trophy ceremony.
Throughout this half day program, Moran Raceway
will be closed down for our school karts exclusively. What is the daily time schedule? 9-1 corporate or group program Full day program 8:45 Sign in, finish

Moran Raceway is equipped with cold drink
vending machines. Yes, this is fine
as long as we are given notice ahead of time.

kart will receive a reduced rate but are also
required to maintain their own kart
throughout the program. The Moran raceway staff

or purchase one online here. Yes, for parties over 10 participants each
additional person is only $100 each . How far in advance should I book a corporate or group event? In general, the sooner
the better. Availability fluctuates for many
different reasons, however 1-2 weeks notice
should be adequate. Don't be afraid to call
even up to the day
before a scheduled class because there may
be room available. Tuesdays and Thursdays
typically have much more room than Saturday
classes. Keep in mind, that Corporate or Group
events can be scheduled any day of the week
year round for large parties. Who is responsible for crash damage? You are, please keep
that in mind. Crash damage is rare when participants
drive responsibly and safely
while respecting their fellow drivers. Off-roading
of karts is the #1 cause of crash damage. All
particpants
will be briefed and cautioned on proper driving
methods and corner locations and speeds prior
to driving.
